If you are under the total point ceiling, no choices are considered an option (=budget overrun). You can stay within your budget by allocating points to those choices that you want no matter what.

The costs of all internal spec choices are disclosed via conversion into point values. You can clearly see how much each item is costing.

The products of all manufacturers (including imports) can be converted into points. Building contractors and spec-home builders typically offer only 3 to 5 choices if they offer any choice at all, but with CAA you have unlimited possibilities for mixing and matching choices.

Since one point is defined as a standard unit price, if the total point ceiling is exceeded, the overrun can be immediately converted into a monetary amount.(*2) This being the case, you can constantly check your decisions against the budget as the home building process moves forward, and, consequently, you avoid the usual uncertainties (such as the inability to identify overruns until after the overall estimate has been produced).

　2. The total point ceiling, expressed as a housing grade, is at the “medium-upper-class” level. Almost everyone is able to keep their point total under the total point ceiling.
